This is because there are a bunch of terms that are used for actions taken place while playing. Words like "mark", "breakside", and "bid" all represent an action that an Ultimate Frisbee player can do while on the field. A mark represents the positioning of the defensive player who is guarding the opponent with the frisbee in his hand. Breakside is the side of the field that the mark has his/hers back to.
